Amazon Prime Video has added an ‘underrated’ US sitcom nearly ten years after it first aired.
Both seasons of Nightcap are now available to binge-watch on the streaming platform in the UK.
First aired in 2016, the comedy centres on Staci Cole (Ali Wentworth), the overworked head talent booker on a fictitious late-night talk show.
It follows Staci and her co-workers as they interact with different celebrities who are being interviewed on Nightcap with Jimmy.
Nightcap featured cameos from the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker and Whoopi Goldberg, who all played themselves.
On Reddit forum Forgotten TV, users including Hogteeth compared the show to 30 Rock, considered to be one of the greatest sitcoms ever made.

@dashcam_drivein said of Nightcap: ‘This seems like a good example of a forgotten show. I pay a decent amount of attention to coverage of new TV shows but I don’t think I ever heard of this one, or even the Pop network (which Wikipedia says is a rebrand of the TV Guide Channel?!) 2016 was sort of a weird moment in television, when all these random cable channels were producing their own original shows, and streaming services were also starting to really ramp up production.’
Echoing their sentiment, Reasonable-HB678 said: ‘A show lost in the shuffle that would have gotten more attention if it aired on a streaming service.’
Forsaken-Mood-5497 commented: ‘I really like it. It’s behind the scenes of a fictional late night show, but you never see the host, and the guests play exaggerated versions for themselves. My favorite episodes are the ones with Whoopi Goldberg and Brooke Shields.’
Like Nightcap, 30 Rock takes a satirical look at the behind-the-scenes dramas behind fictional show, The Girly Show, helmed by head writer and showrunner Liz Lemon (Tina Fey).

The concept was inspired by Tina’s years working as head writer on American variety staple Saturday Night Live.
30 Rock has been named among the most successful TV shows of all time, with the Writers Guild of America West in 2014 listing it as the 21st best-written TV series.
Huffington Post’s Chris Harnick also ranked it as one of the great TV comedies, along with I Love Lucy and Seinfeld.
Nightcap is not the only comedy on Amazon Prime to have captivated viewers.
They have fallen in ‘complete love’ after rediscovering Australian comedy-drama Wolf Like Me.

The series follows single father Gary (Josh Gad) who lives in Adelaide with his daughter Emma (Ariel Donoghue) as he strikes up a relationship with Mary (Isla Fisher).
Both Gary and Emma are still emotionally traumatised after the death of her mother Lisa seven years ago, so when Mary enters the pictures and is able to connect with Emma she is a welcome addition to the family.
However, Mary is hiding baggage of her own that she fears may hurt Gary and Emma: she is a werewolf.
On Google, Wolf Like Me fans have been urging everyone to watch the hidden gem series which has flown under the radar since it first aired on Stan and Peacock in 2022.
Ben Hutchison raved: ‘The cast are all great including the supporting roles. The script is awesome, it flows well the characters are believable and most importantly it’s engaging.’
Nivedita Kapur commented: ‘I’m in complete love with every aspect of this series. The pace with which story goes is remarkable and the series serves you with just the right amount of thrill for every scene.’
Nightcap is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
